Flange Type Check Valve

The VTY flange type check valve is a spring-assisted, poppet-style non-return valve specifically designed for hygienic piping systems in the food, beverage, and biopharmaceutical industries.
Application: Dairy, Beverage, Pharmaceutical CIP lines
Material: Forged 316L (1.4404) / Ra≤0.8μm
Certification: 3A, FDA 177.2600, EN 10204 3.1
Connection: DIN 11850 / Inch / Clamp / Flange
Lead Time: 15-20 working days (MAZAK CNC production)

Unlike traditional swing check valves, our split-body sandwich design allows for quick inline maintenance without breaking the pipeline. The internal surface is polished to Ra ≤ 0.8μm, eliminating product adhesion and bacterial growth spots.

Why Engineers Choose VTY Flange Check Valve:

  • Material Integrity: Forged 316L (1.4404) contact parts with full EN 10204 3.1 traceability.

  • Compact Installation: Directly clamps between DIN/ISO or Inch flanges—no welding required, reducing installation time by 60%.

  • CIP/SIP Compatible: Withstands 150°C sterilization temperatures; EPDM seals conform to FDA 177.2600.

  • Zero Backflow: Opening pressure as low as 0.08 bar, ensuring immediate response even in low-viscosity fluids like purified water or thin milk.

Available Configurations: DN25 to DN100 | Weld Ends (DIN 11850 Series 2 / Inch) | Threaded | Clamp | Flange.

FAQ

Q1: What is the maximum continuous operating temperature for the EPDM seal in this flange check valve?

A: The EPDM seal supports continuous operation from -20°C to +135°C. For sterilization (SIP), it withstands 150°C for up to 20 minutes. For higher temperature applications, we offer FPM (Viton) and PTFE seal options—please contact our technical team for selection guidance.

Q2: How does the VTY flange check valve prevent water hammer effect?

A: The VTY-FCV uses a spring-assisted poppet mechanism that closes 40% faster than conventional swing check valves, significantly reducing the slam and pressure surge (water hammer) that can damage downstream equipment. The guided disc design also ensures stable operation even under variable flow conditions.

Q3: What material certifications do you provide for the 316L flange check valve?

A: We provide EN 10204 3.1 certification as standard for all product-contact materials, with full chemical composition and mechanical property traceability. EN 10204 3.2 certification (third-party inspected) is available upon request for pharmaceutical and high-criticality applications.

Q4: Can the flange check valve be installed vertically, or only horizontally?

A: The VTY-FCV can be installed in both horizontal and vertical (with upward flow) orientations. For vertical installations with downward flow, we recommend our spring-assist configuration to ensure reliable closure. Please specify your installation orientation when placing your order so we can pre-set the spring tension accordingly.

Q5: What is the lead time for VTY flange check valves? Do you keep stock?

A: Standard lead time is 15-20 working days for sizes DN25-DN100. We also maintain stock inventory for popular configurations (DN25/DN40/DN50, 316L, EPDM seals) for urgent requirements. For custom materials (Hastelloy, Monel) or special finishes, please allow 25-30 working days. Contact our sales team for current stock availability.

Q6: Why is 316L preferred over 304 for product-contact parts in food processing?

A: 316L contains molybdenum (2-3%), which provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion from food acids (citric, lactic, acetic), salt brines, and aggressive CIP chemicals (chlorinated caustics). The "L" grade also has lower carbon content, reducing the risk of sensitization during welding—critical for maintaining the sanitary integrity of your welded connections. All VTY flange check valves use forged 316L for maximum structural integrity and corrosion resistance.
