• T304 is standard food-grade stainless steel. It offers great corrosion resistance for most food and beverage lines.
• T316L contains molybdenum and has a lower carbon content, making it highly resistant to chlorides, acids, and aggressive cleaning chemicals (like those used in CIP systems). It is the default choice for pharmaceutical applications.
There is no single expiration date, as lifespan depends entirely on cycle frequency, operating temperature, pressure, and the types of chemicals passing through. However, because the elastomer seat is a wear item, it should be inspected regularly during routine plant maintenance shutdowns. A degraded seal is the number one cause of both leaks and bacterial contamination.

Sanitary Butterfly Valves are lighter, take up less space in a piping manifold, are generally more affordable, and are incredibly easy to strip down and clean manually if needed.
Sanitary Ball Valves handle much higher pressures and viscous fluids better, but they have a cavity around the ball that can trap fluid unless you purchase a specialized (and expensive) cavity-filled design.
