The SMS Sanitary Butterfly Valve is a butterfly valve manufactured according to Swedish Milk Standard. These valves are mainly used in European countries and South Asia. They are widely used in fermented dairy products industry. Thanks to the great hold guaranteed by the fittings SMS, it is one of the most used valves in the dairy and food sector, designed for compact and hygienic flow control in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical pipelines.

Sealing Test: After closing the SMS Sanitary Butterfly Valve, apply working pressure to one side of the pipeline and observe whether there is any leakage on the other side to ensure no medium penetrates when closed.
Switch Flexibility Test: Manually or electrically operate the valve and observe whether the butterfly plate rotates smoothly, without sticking or abnormal sounds; check whether the fully open/fully closed positions are accurate to prevent flow control errors due to travel deviation.
Surface Finish Inspection: Touch the interior of the valve body and the surface of the butterfly plate by hand. If roughness, scratches, or dents are found, repair them promptly using a special electrolytic polishing agent, and if serious, replace the valve body.
If the valve is to be out of use for a long period, the following protection measures should be taken:
1.Thoroughly clean the inside of the valve to ensure no medium remains
2.After closing the valve, keep it in a half-open position (rotate the disc 45°) to prevent deformation of the sealing parts due to long-term pressure
3.For pneumatic/electric valves, disconnect the air supply or power to prevent accidental operation
4.Store in a dry and ventilated environment. A thin layer of food-grade anti-rust oil can be applied to the surface of the valve body (only on surfaces not in contact with the medium) to prevent rust.
