Sanitary DIN Union

VTY is a top China manufacturer and supplier of Sanitary DIN Unions. We offer custom sizes from DN10 to DN250 using premium 304, 304L, and 316L steel. These unions have very smooth inside surfaces, so product will not stick to them, making them perfect for CIP and SIP cleaning systems.

The Sanitary Din Union from VTY is a sanitary fitting designed according to the DIN 11851, DIN ISO, and DIN Imperial standards. A complete union consists of a nut, a male, a liner and a joint ring. The unions are made to suit Diameter Nominal tube sizes, so they are very common in European countries, and thus widely used in the global fluid processing industry.

VTY can supply a full range of forged Sanitary DIN Unions for various applications such as food, pharmaceuticals, and beverages. We may also be able to manufacture to specific requirements upon request.

FAQ

Q1: What is a Sanitary DIN Union and what does it consist of?

A Sanitary DIN Union is a hygienic pipe connection designed to DIN 11851 (EN 10357). A complete union normally consists of four parts: a nut, a male (weld male or expanding male), a liner (weld liner or expanding liner), and a joint ring / seal. VTY supplies all four components as a complete set or as separate spare parts.

Q2: What is the difference between DIN 11851 and DIN 32676?

DIN 11851 is a threaded hygienic union standard, where the nut tightens the male and liner against a profiled seal. DIN 32676 is a clamp-type connection (often called a tri-clamp), where two ferrules are joined by a clamp and gasket. DIN 11851 unions are very common in European dairy, brewery and food lines, while DIN 32676 clamps are widely used in global hygienic piping. VTY can supply both connection types and help you match the existing line standard.

Q3: Which DIN union types does VTY supply?

VTY supplies a full range of DIN hygienic union components, including DIN-13 Nut, DIN-14 Welding Liner, DIN-15 Welding Male, DIN-14R Expanding Liner, DIN-15R Expanding Male, DIN-14H / DIN-15H, DIN-14S / DIN-15S, DIN-ISO-L / DIN-ISO-M, DIN-INCH-L / DIN-INCH-M, DIN-14RL / DIN-15RM reducing types, DIN-14P / DIN-15P, DIN-14T / DIN-15T thickening types, DIN-14B blank liner, DIN-13RS nut, DIN-13RB blank nut, DIN-13RBN blank nut with boss, and plate seals. Please refer to the specification tables above for dimensions.

Q4: Which materials are available, and how do I choose between 304 and 316L?

VTY DIN unions are forged in 304, 304L and 316L stainless steel. 304/304L is a cost-effective choice for general food, beverage and water applications. 316L offers better corrosion resistance and is recommended for more aggressive media, chloride-containing environments, seawater-related processes and many pharmaceutical applications. If you are unsure, send us the medium, concentration and temperature, and our team will recommend the suitable grade.

Q5: Which seal materials are available and how do I choose?

Standard seal options include NBR, Silicone, EPDM, FPM (Viton) and PTFE. EPDM is widely used for food, dairy and beverage applications and is available with FDA-compliant grades. Silicone is suitable for high-temperature and some low-temperature applications. FPM offers good resistance to oils, fats and many chemicals. PTFE is used where high chemical resistance is required. The final choice depends on medium, temperature, cleaning chemicals and regulatory requirements.

Q6: What are the surface roughness and hygienic standards?

VTY DIN unions are normally supplied with internal roughness Ra = 0.4–0.8 µm and external roughness Ra ≤ 1.6 µm. The smooth internal surface helps prevent product adhesion and supports CIP/SIP cleaning. If your project requires a specific Ra value or a specific hygienic standard, please state it in the inquiry so we can confirm feasibility.

Q7: Are VTY DIN unions suitable for CIP and SIP cleaning?

Yes. The hygienic design, smooth wetted surface and removable union structure allow effective CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Steam-in-Place) cleaning. The union can be quickly disassembled for inspection and seal replacement when required. Cleaning temperature, chemical concentration and cycle time should always be validated according to your process and cleaning procedure.

Q8: Do you provide 3.1 material certificates and FDA-compliant seals?

Yes. EN 10204 3.1 material certificates can be provided for the steel batch. FDA-compliant seal options, such as EPDM, are available on request. Please specify the certificate and compliance requirements in your inquiry so they can be included in the quotation and order confirmation.

Q9: What is the size range of VTY Sanitary DIN Unions?

VTY supplies DIN metric unions from DN10 to DN250 and DIN imperial unions from 1" OD to 6" OD. The specification tables on this page list the commonly requested sizes. For sizes outside the table or for mixed reducing combinations, please contact us with the required dimensions.

Q10: Can you manufacture to drawings or samples?

Yes. VTY supports OEM and custom manufacturing according to customer drawings or samples. Please provide the drawing, material grade, seal requirement, surface finish and quantity so we can confirm feasibility, tooling needs and lead time.

Q11: Do you provide samples before mass production?

Yes. Samples are normally available for evaluation before mass production. Sample quantity, size and whether the sample cost is refundable depend on the item and order situation. Please contact our sales team with the model and quantity you need.

Q12: What is the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ and lead time depend on the union type, size, material, seal option and stock situation. Standard sizes can often be more flexible than special or reducing items. Please send your item list and required quantity, and our sales team will confirm the MOQ and delivery schedule in the quotation.

Q13: What packaging and payment terms do you offer?

Export packaging is normally carton plus plywood case, suitable for sea and air shipment. Payment terms are subject to order value and commercial agreement. Please confirm the final packaging and payment terms with our sales team in the quotation.

Q14: Which industries use VTY Sanitary DIN Unions?

VTY DIN unions are widely used in food processing, dairy, brewery and craft brewing, beverages, wine, pharmaceutical, water treatment and biochemistry applications. They are especially common in European-standard hygienic piping systems.

Q15: How do I request a quotation?

Please send your required union type, size, material, seal material, quantity and any certificate or surface finish requirement through the inquiry form on this page or email vty@wzvty.com. Our team will reply with price, lead time and technical confirmation.
