Sanitary IDF Unions

The Sanitary IDF Unions from VTY factory is believed to be a superior hygienic fitting compared to RJT ones. It features a smoother, cleaner bore to reduce the possibility of bug traps. The IDF union is manufactured in accordance with ISO 2853 and BS 4825 part 4. It consists of a nut, a male, a liner, and a gasket.

How do sanitary unions work?

The Sanitary IDF Union is composed of a nut, a male, a liner and a gasket. First, screw the flat-threaded part of the liner into the round thread of the male, achieving the initial connection between the two by rotation. Then, use a nut to fasten the male part and the liner together, forming a complete connection unit.

Seals fill the gaps between threads under pressure, forming a reliable sealing effect. The in-line channel design ensures unobstructed fluid flow, reduces residual risk, and meets the cleanliness requirements of sanitary standards.

Why is it important to inspect unions on a regular basis?

Sanitary IDF Unions should be checked regularly. It is advised that we check for any signs of leakage, inspect for aging or deformation of the gasket, and observe for any abnormal corrosion on the surface of the pipe fittings.

When the gasket's elasticity decreases or the surface is damaged, we need to replace it in the due course. In disassembly and reinstallation, it is recommended to use a new gasket to ensure the desired sealing effect.
